Overview: The cars are always spectacular. In the past, they have included vintage Mercedes, Aston Martins and Ferrari's. These vehicle gems sign up to enjoy one of the most scenic tours in the United States.
When: The Grand Car Tour is held approximately the third week of September each year to catch the Aspen colors at their peak.
Where: Starts and ends in Vail Colorado and travels through some of the many wonderful area communities like Grand Junction, Durango, Crested Butte, Colorado Springs, Steamboat, Telluride and many, many more. The tour covers over 1000 miles in four days of driving.
Fees: There is an entrance fee for drivers and many also donate auction items to help support the Grand charities. The CSP, and all the towns visited benefit from donations, scholarships and support of communities projects.
Details: The evening before the tour, a kick off dinner takes place so all the entrants can meet one another and benefit from instructions about the route and safety tips from the Colorado Highway Patrol. In addition to the fine food and camaraderie, there is a banquet and auction on the final night of the event which adds to the total donations to the charities.
Display: If you can't drive the rally, you can come and enjoy all the fantastic vehicles and the fun, friendly atmosphere of the event on Saturday from 8am-1pm when all the cars will be displayed on the plaza in Lionshead.
