Public campgrounds are abundant around Vail, and camping out under the stars is an added treat to your Rocky Mountain adventures. The White River National Forest has campgrounds along bubbling creeks, in open valleys or in secluded forest settings. You may camp along the border of Eagle’s Nest Wilderness or Holy Cross Wilderness. Outdoor enthusiasts never tire of these beautiful mountains.

The maximum length of stay in the White River National Forest around Vail is 14 days.
Camping Areas/Locations
You’ll find campgrounds in the Vail area by visiting the National Forest website at http://www.forestcamping.com/dow/rockymtn/wr.htm. Look in the Vail and Minturn areas.
Season
The Forest Service campgrounds around Vail open in mid-May and close in mid-September.
Fees
Camping fees range from $12 to $16 per night.
