Although the area around Vail and Beaver Creek, Colorado is mainly known for its unspoiled wilderness terrain, top notch fly fishing and world-class skiing, the sport of tennis is also a popular activity to partake in while in the area. Taking deep breaths of the crisp mountain air while exchanging ground strokes and aces is a fun way to take advantage of a sunny summer day.

Surprisingly enough, the tennis courts and facilities in the area are some of the better playing surfaces available in most of the mountain towns in the state. Nonetheless, you don't have to be Andre Agassi or Lindsay Davenport to enjoy knocking the yellow ball around on the tennis courts here.

While in Vail and Beaver Creek and looking to play tennis, one of the best places to start is at one of the many public courts available throughout the area. Another option for playing venues is at the numerous condominium complexes that have their own tennis courts. Municipal courts are also available in Avon which is about 10 miles west of Vail.
