They have a 49 bed acute care facility, a 24 hour emergency room and can be reached at (970) 476-2451. Other hospitals within a short distance include Colorado Mountain Medical in Avon, Colorado. They are located at 71 Beaver Creek Place and can be reached at (970) 949-3222. St. Vincent General Hospital is located in Leadville, Colorado, 28 miles from Vail. Kremmling Memorial Hospital is about 36 miles away in Kremmling. Aspen Valley Hospital is located in Aspen, about 44 miles away. There are also many specialty clinics in Vail and Beaver Creek where doctors are not connected with a large medical facility but provide great specialized care.
Remember to call 911 if you are experiencing an emergency. It is always wise to carry a first aid kit when you are traveling in the backcountry. Make sure you know how to use its contents.
