The TEVA Mountain Games bring local and national athletes to the Vail area for one of the nations largest celebration of mountain sport, lifestyle and music each June.

Event Details:

Competitors of all ages and abilities will be able to race on the original Time Trial course ridden by legendary riders such as Greg Lemond and Bernard Hinault back in the late 1980’s. Andy Hampsten’s long standing course record of 26:33.43 set during the 1987 Coors Classic was broken at the 2008 Teva Mountain Games by Benjamin Day (25:48) and Chris Baldwin (26:29). Will the new course record stand the test of time?

The race is open to both recreational and licensed road cyclists, with winners crowned in age group racing categories. Check out the course profile for a snap shot of this classic uphill Time Trial (Road Bike TT Full Course).

A cash purse will be awarded to this year’s top rider and all participants will receive an athlete bag with wicked cool Teva Mountain Games swag.

Overview:The Teva Mountain Games are the nation’s largest celebration of mountain sport, lifestyle and music featuring top professional and amateur athletes from around the world.  The environmentally-friendly adventure sporting event hosts approximately 3,000 outdoor athletes, along with an estimated 40,000 spectators.  

Athletes converge on Vail’s mountains and rivers to compete in eight sports and 24 disciplines for over $100,000 in prize money.  Events include kayaking, rafting, mountain biking, road cycling, World Cup Bouldering, amateur climbing, fly-fishing, stand up paddling, trail running and a half marathon. 

When: This event returns every year in June and draws incredible athletes, sponsors and spectators.

Where: the Teva Mountain Games take place every year int he mountainside village of Vail, Colorado. The mountains, rivers, roads and hills provide the perfect setting for the games.

Details:: Additional events at the Teva Mountain Games include: a film series, Outdoor Reels; a photography competition, Mountain Click; an interactive expo area, Gear Town; DockDog canine competitions; free concerts at Mountains of Music and the Teva Mountain Ball.  The Teva Mountain Games are a project of the Vail Valley Foundation.
