Nottingham Lake

Nottingham Lake is situated in Nottingham Park in the center of Avon. The area is a stunning setting for activities such as walking, jogging, or bicycling on the path around Nottingham Lake. In the summer season, there is much enjoyment to be had with fishing and paddle boating on the lake. In winter, activities such as ice-skating, hockey, or broomball are very popular by all ages.

The town of Avon, at the base of Beaver Creek mountain, serves residents and visitors as a commercial and recreational hub. Nottingham Lake is primary in this regard, although Avon's restaurants, shops and lodges all enhance it with its friendly, home-town atmosphere. The town of Avon presents the Dunk-N-Dash, a new biathlon series - and the first organized open water swim race in Eagle County which takes place on Nottingham Lake. The first race kicked off the series in August. Swimmers jumped into Lake Nottingham to be the inaugural athletes for the Dunk-N-Dash. The race is a 800- or 1600-yard open water swim in Nottingham Lake followed by a 5K run around Nottingham Park. This series was developed in anticipation of the Avon to Vail TriAmerica Triathlon. Athletes throughout the Colorado Mountains have been searching for a place to prepare for open water races. Nottingham Lake now serves as a location to do so.
