Gore Creek is a tributary of the Eagle River. It spans about 12 miles through Eagle County in central Colorado. The south end of the Gore Range drains an area of the Rocky Mountains at the upper end of the Eagle Valley.
Gore Creek flows in the west through a narrow gorge where it joins Black Gore Creek from the south. Downstream the river meets Interstate 70 and flows past Vail, joining the Eagle from the east about 3 miles west of Vail.
The Gore Range covers about 60 miles northwest-to-southeast, starting at the southern section of the Park Range. It moves south from Rabbit Ears Pass to the Eagle River near Vail. The Colorado River passes through the range at Gore Canyon, which makes up a segment of the western boundary of Middle Park. This occurs at the headwaters of the Colorado River, which separate it from the upper basin of the Yampa River in the west. The northern part of the mountain range north of Gore Pass is much lower than the southern section. It is located on the western side of the valley of the Blue River.
