Art in Public Places
Vail offers a variety of arts for the public. The hills are alive with
music each June through early August at the Bravo! Vail Valley Music
Festival held at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater/Vilar Pavilion in
Vail. Musical offerings include everything from classical to chamber to
pops. The Vail International Dance Festival features a variety of dance
artists from around the world, with classic, contemporary and world
premiere performances.
You can also enjoy Hot Summer Nights, a series of free concerts Tuesday
nights during June and July. Selections include rock, blues, bluegrass
and jazz.
Next door to the Amphitheater, visit the Ford Park and play Frisbee or
soccer. Watch a lacrosse game while the kids play on the playground.
Across the road, you may see the Vail Rugby Team in action. The
amphitheatre is home to Bravo Colorado!, a summer series of music and
dance.
President Ford and his wife have a home in Beaver Creek and have long been active in the Vail Valley community.
Or, wait until the sun sets. Then grab a blanket, pillow, picnic and
bottle of wine and find a nice, quiet hiking trail. You and your
special someone can then count the falling stars. Don't forget to make
a wish.
