- Sylvan Lake State Park – Quiet recreation makes this park a serene and peaceful place to spend some time. The majestic mountains tower above you and the wildlife peeks from behind some trees.
- White River National Forest – The largest ski areas in Colorado are within this National Forest. You can spend your days skiing, snowboarding or just taking in the views.
- Eagles Nest Wilderness – Here you’ll find an untamed wilderness unlike any other. The valleys, forests and waterfalls beckon you as you search for the highest peak of Mount Powell.
- Flat Tops Wilderness –This huge block of planed surface is a wonder in itself. Every so often giant peaks push up over a thousand feet above the plateau.
- Colorado River Headwaters National Scenic Byway – As you wind past valleys, canyons and lakes, you will follow the Colorado River as it moves to continue to carve out the Grand Canyon further west. It will take you about 90 minutes to make this drive.
- Top of the Rockies National Scenic Byway – Another breathtaking drive, this byway showcases the landscape. Driving this 75-mile stretch will have you stopping to linger more than once.
